A Unique Teacher Gift That Keeps Growing
Teachers spend their days helping students learn, grow, and discover what they’re capable of. A Little Saps Teacher Appreciation Gift Tree offers a fitting way to recognize that impact with something living they can plant, nurture, and enjoy for years to come.
As the tree grows, it can serve as a lasting reminder of the students and families whose lives they’ve touched along the way.
A Thoughtful Way to Thank a Special Teacher
A Teacher Appreciation Gift Tree is a meaningful way to recognize:
A classroom teacher
A preschool or daycare teacher
A special education teacher
A music, art, or PE teacher
A tutor or instructor
A favorite teacher at the end of the school year
A teacher celebrating retirement or another milestone
Send one for Teacher Appreciation Day or Week, the end of the school year, the holidays, or simply when you want a teacher to know their work has made a difference.
If you’re searching for a unique and thoughtful teacher gift idea, a living tree offers something different from the usual classroom gifts—something the teacher can take home, plant, and continue to enjoy.
Personalize Your Teacher Appreciation Gift Tree
Every Teacher Appreciation Gift Tree includes your choice of a pre-printed teacher appreciation gift tag and a keepsake card featuring your personal message.
Your message might thank them for helping your child grow, recognize their patience and encouragement, share something your child has loved about their classroom, or simply let them know that their work is seen and appreciated.
That personal message also makes a Little Sap a more personal teacher gift, whether it comes from one student, a family, or an entire class.
Teacher Appreciation Gifts for a Class or Group
Want to thank several teachers at once? Little Saps can also work well as teacher appreciation gifts in bulk for a class, parent group, school, or organization recognizing multiple educators.
Individual gifts can be personalized for each teacher, or larger orders can be coordinated with our team when you need help with multiple recipients, messages, or delivery details.
Why Give a Living Tree to a Teacher?
Few people are more closely connected to the idea of growth than teachers. They nurture potential, encourage curiosity, and help small beginnings become something much bigger.
A living tree reflects that same idea. Instead of a gift that’s quickly used or forgotten, it gives a teacher something they can plant, care for, and watch grow—a lasting reminder of the students they helped grow along the way.
A Gift Tree Selected for Their Growing Region
Little Saps are living evergreen trees selected to grow outdoors. Because different tree varieties thrive in different climates, our tree experts choose a variety suited to the recipient’s growing region. This gives each Little Sap the best opportunity to grow and thrive in its new home.
Have a favorite tree variety in mind? You can share your preference in the Order Notes at checkout, and we’ll accommodate your request when the variety is well suited to the recipient’s growing region.

Little Saps are living evergreen trees and need an outdoor home. Place your tree outside in a sunny or partially shaded location where it can experience fresh air, natural light, and seasonal changes.
If your tree arrived in a pot: Your Little Sap can remain in the pot it arrives in for about a year before it will need a larger container or a permanent home in the ground. Be sure to remove the plastic drainage plug from the bottom of the pot so excess water can drain freely.
Allow the soil to dry between waterings rather than keeping it constantly wet. During periods of regular rainfall, additional watering may not be necessary, while periods of drought may require more frequent watering. Your tree will also need more water during sunny, warm weather, when it loses more moisture through transpiration, and during periods of active growth. It will generally need less water during winter or extended periods of cool, cloudy weather.
If your tree arrived in a bag: Plant your sapling directly in the ground or transfer it to an outdoor container with proper drainage. If using a container, we recommend a well-draining soil mix:
Half potting soil, ideally with slow-release fertilizer
Half pine bark mulch
Whichever option you choose, avoid overwatering. Soil should be allowed to dry somewhat between waterings, and your tree should never sit in standing water.
