Sometimes the Best Gifts Don't Need a Reason
Not every meaningful gift has to mark a birthday, holiday, or milestone. Sometimes you simply want someone to know they're on your mind.
A Little Saps Just Because Gift Tree is a thoughtful way to reach across the miles, brighten someone's day, or remind a person you care about that they're loved. And because it's living, your gift can continue growing long after it arrives.
Send a Little Something Just Because
A Just Because Gift Tree is a thoughtful way to say:
I'm thinking of you
I miss you
You mean a lot to me
I hope this brightens your day
I'm glad you're in my life
Sending a little love your way
It can be sent to a friend, family member, partner, neighbor, or anyone who could use an unexpected reminder that someone is thinking about them.
Personalize Your Just Because Gift Tree
Every Just Because Gift Tree includes a pre-printed gift tag and a keepsake card featuring your personal message.
There's no particular formula for what to write when there's no particular occasion. Tell them you miss them, share something that made you think of them, send a little encouragement, or simply say hello.

Why Send a Living Tree Just Because?
An unexpected gift can mean even more when there isn't an occasion prompting it.
A living tree turns that small gesture into something lasting. The recipient can plant and nurture it, and as it grows, it becomes a reminder of the person who thought of them for no reason other than wanting to make their day a little brighter.
Tree Variety
Little Saps are living evergreen trees selected to grow outdoors. Because different tree varieties thrive in different climates, our tree experts choose a variety suited to the recipient’s growing region. This gives each Little Sap the best opportunity to grow and thrive in its new home.

Little Saps are living evergreen trees and need an outdoor home. Place your tree outside in a sunny or partially shaded location where it can experience fresh air, natural light, and seasonal changes.
If your tree arrived in a pot: Your Little Sap can remain in the pot it arrives in for about a year before it will need a larger container or a permanent home in the ground. Be sure to remove the plastic drainage plug from the bottom of the pot so excess water can drain freely.
Allow the soil to dry between waterings rather than keeping it constantly wet. During periods of regular rainfall, additional watering may not be necessary, while periods of drought may require more frequent watering. Your tree will also need more water during sunny, warm weather, when it loses more moisture through transpiration, and during periods of active growth. It will generally need less water during winter or extended periods of cool, cloudy weather.
If your tree arrived in a bag: Plant your sapling directly in the ground or transfer it to an outdoor container with proper drainage. If using a container, we recommend a well-draining soil mix:
Half potting soil, ideally with slow-release fertilizer
Half pine bark mulch
Whichever option you choose, avoid overwatering. Soil should be allowed to dry somewhat between waterings, and your tree should never sit in standing water.
